I’m Sean Peoples, a documentary filmmaker and creative director. I created the Climate Film Library to connect filmmakers with inventive approaches to environmental storytelling—and help educators bring those stories into classrooms and conversations.
This growing collection brings together short films about climate, conservation, environmental justice, and our relationships with the natural world. It’s a place to discover recent work, revisit enduring references, and learn from the choices filmmakers make: whose perspectives they center, how they make complex issues visible, and what possibilities they invite us to imagine.
My hope is that it serves both as a creative resource for fellow filmmakers and a learning resource for teachers, students, and educational institutions.
Films are selected first for their potential value as cinematic references. Festival inclusion alone is not an endorsement. Watchability is verified separately, and impact claims are distinguished between intended goals and documented outcomes wherever evidence is available.
The collection is intentionally evolving. Featured References get users into strong films quickly, while deeper film records add notes on the storytelling problem they solve, the craft choices worth studying, and the relationship between film and intended impact.
